The RISD 2023-24 school calendar was updated 6/5/23.  The new first day of school is Monday, August 7, 2023.

6th grade jumpstart and T-shirt sales will be on Thursday, August 3 from 12:00-6:00 pm and Friday, August 4 from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.  T-shirt sales are cash or check only.  This is a come and go event.  Teachers will not be available , but students will be able to buy uniforms and find their classrooms and lockers.  If you have questions, please contact the office.  Staff will be available beginning on the 27th.

Other back to school information:  7th and 8th grade Bulldogs wanting to participate in athletics must have a completed physical packet and NFHSlearn concussion course for students certificate ready to hand in to the front office in August.  Physical packets can be found on the RISD website.  For the most current information, join our Facebook page, Berrendo Bulldogs PTO.  (Students may not join the page.  Member requests will not be approved if the new member does not answer the membership questions.)  RISD will reopen the Power School parent and student portals the first week of August.

Dress Code Information for the 2023-2024 School Year

• Berrendo Middle School is a uniform school, and the school makes every effort to accommodate student dress needs within the boundaries of the uniform policy. 

• Pants:  Plain denim, black, gray, light tan jeans or light tan or black uniform pants, capris pants of same colors for girls (mid-calf length), or shorts of same colors with no design on the legs.  There will be no tears, holes, or frays.  There will be no leggings or pants of stretchy materials, such as lycra or spandex (no yoga pants or jeggings).  Pants must not be more than one size larger for growth.  Pants may not be frayed or torn at the bottom.  Pants may not bag nor sag.  Shorts are to be finger-tip length.  

• Shirts: BMS t-shirts are crew-neck, factory hemmed, and have no alterations.  Colors are black, grey, gold, and white and must have an approved BMS screen print on them.  T-shirts are sold at school.  Long sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts are also sold at school.

• A BMS sweatshirt may be worn in the classroom.  BMS sweatshirts will be sold at school.  Hoodies are also sold at the school, but students must have the hood off when in the building. 

• No house shoes, slippers, or slider shoes are allowed.
